Non-Medical Aromatic Products

Zhithera diffusers, essential oils and fragrance oils are consumer products for ambient scenting. They are not medical devices, medicines, dietary supplements or therapeutic goods, and they have not been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Nothing on this website, on our packaging, or in any message we send is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition.

Intended Use

Our devices disperse a micron-fine, room-temperature mist of aromatic oil into the air of an enclosed indoor space.

Suitable for homes, offices, cars, spas, hotels and retail spaces.
Intended for use with oils formulated for micro-mesh atomization, including our botanical essential oils and designer fragrance oils.
For ambient scenting only. Anything we say about focus, relaxation or restful ambiance describes the atmosphere a fragrance creates and personal preference, not a physiological result.

What These Products Are Not For

Not for application to the skin, hair or any part of the body.
Not for ingestion, and not for use in any nebuliser or humidifier intended for medical respiratory treatment.
Not for use on or around food.
Not a substitute for ventilation, air purification, cleaning, disinfection or pest control.
Not a substitute for professional medical, veterinary or psychological care.

Fragrance Response Varies

Scent is subjective. The same oil can be experienced very differently from one person to the next, and a fragrance that suits one household may not suit another. For this reason personal preference is not treated as a product fault — please see our Refund Policy for what is and is not returnable.

Before You Use: Special Groups

The notes below are responsible safety guidance, not medical advice. If any of the following applies to you or your household, please seek qualified advice before use.

If this applies	What we recommend
Pregnant or breastfeeding	Consult your physician or a qualified aromatherapist before use.
Infants and young children	Consult a paediatrician. Keep the device, oils and cartridges out of reach.
Older adults, chronic conditions, or taking medication	Consult your physician before use.
Asthma, allergies or fragrance sensitivity	Introduce gradually in a well-ventilated room and stop if any discomfort occurs.
Households with pets, especially cats	Diffuse only with ventilation, use the lowest setting, leave a door open so the animal can move away, and keep oils out of reach. Consult your veterinarian.

Ingredient-Specific Cautions

Citrus oils such as lemon, sweet orange, bergamot and grapefruit naturally contain photosensitive compounds. These oils are for diffusion only — do not allow them to contact skin that will then be exposed to sunlight or strong light.
Rosemary. People with high blood pressure or a history of seizures, and anyone who is pregnant, should seek advice before use.
Tea tree. Cats and dogs are more sensitive to this oil. Ventilate the room, use the lowest setting, allow pets to leave freely, and keep the oil out of their reach. Stop use and contact a veterinarian if an animal shows unusual signs.

Safe Use and Storage

Keep the device upright while it is running.
Diffuse in a ventilated space, and take breaks rather than running continuously in a small closed room.
Store oils sealed and away from light, heat, open flame and children. Citrus oils oxidise faster, so use them within a reasonable time after opening.
Keep oils away from eyes, mucous membranes and broken skin. If contact occurs, rinse with plenty of water.
Use only oils suited to micro-mesh atomization. Oils thinned with carrier oils such as grapeseed, jojoba or olive are too viscous, and can block the mesh.

If You Feel Unwell

Stop using the product, ventilate the room, and move to fresh air. Seek medical advice if symptoms continue. If an oil is swallowed, or if a child or an animal is affected, contact a physician, a poison control centre or a veterinarian immediately and take the bottle with you.

No Medical or Functional Claims

We describe our fragrances by their scent character and the atmosphere they create. We do not claim that any Zhithera product sanitises, disinfects, purifies air, repels insects, aids sleep, or produces any other physiological or therapeutic result. Where third parties make such claims about aromatherapy in general, those statements are not ours and we do not adopt them.
