The spread is that wide because the low and medium settings diffuse in short bursts and use no oil at all during the pause, while high runs without stopping. How long does one 6.5 ml pod actually last?

Both the Zhithera D1 and the D1 Mini use the same 6.5 ml refillable pod, and both use waterless, heat-free micro-mesh atomization. What sets runtime is the output mode. Which setting should I use for my room size?

Matching the mode to the space is what keeps a pod from emptying too fast while keeping the aroma present.

• Up to about 5 m² — a bedside table, desk or car: low or intermittent, with either oil line.
• About 10–15 m² — a bedroom, study or private office: low to medium. Choose fragrance oil if you want the scent to hold longer.
• About 15–30 m² — a living room, home office or small shop: medium day to day, high before guests arrive, mainly with fragrance oil.
• About 30–380 m² — a large living room, duplex or commercial space: fragrance oil on high continuous, and more than one unit in very large open plans.

How often should I replace the pod?

The pod houses the precision atomizing mesh and is a consumable part. With Zhithera oils, a fresh pod after roughly five refills — about 32.5 ml of oil — keeps output at its best; in practice pods often last well beyond that, and the moment to change is when the mist noticeably weakens. That works out at roughly one pod per 30 ml bottle, or about three 10 ml bottles. For reference, a 30 ml bottle is around 600 drops, so at 3–5 drops per use every other day it lasts roughly three to six months.

What keeps the mesh clear?

Low-viscosity oils. Pure single-note oils, blends cut with a natural atomization solvent rather than a carrier oil, and the bio-based fragrance oils are all thin enough to atomize cleanly. The oils that clog a mesh are the ones diluted with heavy carrier oils such as grapeseed, jojoba or olive.
