How is a waterless diffuser different from a water-based one?

Accepted Answer

A waterless Zhithera diffuser atomizes pure oil directly with no water and no heat, giving dry micron-fine mist with no tank to empty. A water-based ultrasonic diffuser makes damp vapor from water and a few drops of oil, diluting scent and needing regular rinsing.

How do I choose the right scent intensity for my space?

Begin with a low, intermittent setting and adjust from there. Room size, ceiling height, airflow, the oil and the output setting all change how noticeable the scent is. In testing, a D1 on high continuous with fragrance oil covered about 380 m² (roughly 4,000 sq ft), an upper limit rather than an everyday setting.

Why can't I smell the scent after a while?

Accepted Answer

It's usually olfactory adaptation, not a fault. Your nose filters out a constant aroma, so step out for a few minutes and it typically returns. If the room still smells of nothing when you come back, check the oil level and give the atomizing mesh a light wipe.

Can I use Zhithera around children and pets?

Accepted Answer

Every Zhithera oil is backed by a batch Certificate of Analysis (COA) and a Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), so you know exactly what is in the bottle. As with any home fragrance, diffuse in a ventilated room and keep the oils and the device out of reach of children and pets. Can I take Zhithera oils and a diffuser on a plane?

Rules vary by airline and country, so check before you fly. In general the diffuser's built-in lithium battery meets the usual standards for cabin carry-on, and our 10 ml oils sit well under the 100 ml limit for liquids in hand luggage, though they still have to fit within your total liquids allowance. Larger bottles are normally easier to pack in checked luggage. Airport security always has the final say.

The D1 measures 97 × 43.5 × 24 mm and weighs about 310 g, sized for a desk, nightstand or tote, and its 3,500 mAh base doubles as a power bank. The D1 mini measures 103 × 26 × 20 mm and weighs about 35 g, roughly the size of two lipsticks, so it fits in your palm, a purse or the car.

What warranty does the diffuser come with?

Zhithera diffusers and charging bases are covered by a 12-month warranty against manufacturing faults (non-accidental). Oil pods, which contain the precision mesh, are consumables and aren't covered once used. If an item arrives faulty (leaking, damaged seal, or no mist when unused), contact us within 15 days of receipt.

On the D1, low diffuses about 10 seconds then rests 5 minutes, medium diffuses about 15 seconds then rests 1 minute, and high runs continuously. On the D1 mini, setting 1 runs continuously, setting 2 diffuses about 15 seconds then rests 2 minutes, and setting 3 is a motion-sensing car mode that wakes on vibration and diffuses about 5 seconds every 2 minutes.

Yes, on every model. The D1 can diffuse while sitting on its powered base. A full charge takes around 35 minutes on the D1 and around 40 minutes on the D1 mini over Type-C, and the last couple of percent slow down as the device switches to trickle charging to protect the battery.

No. Zhithera diffusers are waterless and heat-free — they atomize pure oil directly into a micron-fine mist using Advanced Micro-Mesh Atomization. There's no tank to fill or empty. Just add your oil and switch it on.

How do I refill the diffuser or change scents?

Open the side fill port, add Zhithera oil and reseal; the pod is refillable. Ease the silicone plug out gently — it is a wear part and a torn plug isn't covered, though the pod works upright. Change scent by swapping pods rather than mixing oils.

How often should I replace the oil pod?

The oil pod houses the precision atomizing mesh and is a consumable part. With Zhithera oils we suggest a fresh pod after roughly five refills — about 32 ml of oil — which keeps the mist at its finest. In practice pods often last well beyond that, and the moment to change is when output noticeably drops rather than a fixed date. Keeping a spare pod on hand means you are never caught out.

Can I use essential oils I bought elsewhere?

Yes, if the oil is thin and free-flowing. Thick or carrier-diluted oils need thinning with roughly 60-80% alcohol to 20-40% oil, oil at 20% or above, and wipe mesh before and after. Alcohol is flammable, keep away from flame and work ventilated; clogging from non-original oils isn't covered by warranty.

How do I clean and maintain the diffuser?

Upkeep is minimal: wipe up any spilled oil after refilling, keep the body (and the D1's charging base) clean and dry, and give the atomizing mesh an occasional light wipe with a cotton swab to keep the mist even. There's no water tank to rinse.

You can leave it on low or medium intermittent setting. The device does not switch itself off when the pod runs dry, and high setting runs continuously. Switch off or refill promptly once oil is gone and keep it upright on a stable surface.

Almost certainly yes. The output is a micron-fine dry mist with no water, so it can be close to invisible in bright light. Check for quiet working sound and scent; if neither, work through troubleshooting below.

Why isn't my diffuser charging properly?

Accepted Answer

On the D1, make sure the charging base is magnetically seated; the D1 mini has no base and charges straight through its Type-C port. Check that the Type-C cable is firmly connected (the cable is sold separately), try another cable or power source, and keep contacts clean and dry, wiping spills straight after refill. On the D1, a full charge before first use calibrates its battery gauge.

My diffuser won't power on. What should I do?

Accepted Answer

Press and hold the power button for about 2 seconds to switch it on. If nothing happens, the battery may be flat — charge it for a while (the D1 on its charging base, the D1 mini through its Type-C port), then try again. The mode buttons only work once the device is powered on.

Why is my diffuser not producing any mist?

Accepted Answer

Wipe the atomizing mesh lightly with a cotton swab or tissue. Pressing hard can push the white wick rod out of position and stop mist; if so nudge the rod gently side to side with a dropper while refilling. Check pod seating, oil level and charge, and fit a fresh pod if oil is too thick or mesh is worn.

The mist is weak or inconsistent — what could be wrong?

A slight warmth can be normal, but Zhithera diffusion is heat-free, so it should not get hot. Avoid running the highest, continuous setting with an empty pod — if the oil runs out, switch off or refill promptly. For long, unattended sessions, use a low, intermittent setting.

On D1 standby hides the battery indicator and only the setting symbol stays lit, which is normal. D1 mini shows setting by indicator color and toggles RGB ambient light by pressing power three times within two seconds. If lights still look wrong, fully charge the device then switch it off and on again.
